survival

well, i survived the friday night event ... actually wasn't too bad ... had a great salad for dinner with chicken and shrimp and wasn't too starving by the time we ate! the dueling pianos were fun, but i was ready for my jammies by 11:00. gordy ended up staying over, so he walked with me in the morning ... adding 8 minutes to my pace :-) ....
i finally spent a couple hours weeding today ... where do they come from???? they are the only thing thriving in this drought, unfortunately ...
it's so hard for me to stay out of the stores and avoid my shopping addiction :-( ... i am proud of myself tho ... called a seamstress just down the street that i've used before, and i'm going to have 3 skirts and a couple pair of shorts taken in cuz i like them so much. her prices are so low, it's almost a crime, so i always end up tipping her ...
have you read any Lorna Landvik books? i just started "Patty Jane's House of Curl" on Friday, and it is so good. i'm so envious of people who can write so well ... can't wait for the bus again on monday morning to read some more.
i'm not feeling the state fair this year ... just not as much fun without you here! and besides, really don't need the fat and calories :-)
i've been checking Charleston weather the last week and it's rained every day ... with highs in the 70's ... wonder if that's unusual ... guess an umbrella might need to be packed! can you believe we're one month away??? it always seems like it will never arrive when we first start planning!
