We're staying at the Victorian hotel -- The Beaumont -- in Ouray, Colorado tonight. It reminds me of a classy Long Branch Saloon with three stories of railed floors. No one under 16 is allowed here because the railings are so low. We're in a "suite" on the 3rd floor; the term suite is very loosely used. It's still smaller than our room in Denver. We got a little exercise hauling our junk up the steps and we're going to walk around the town a bit in a few minutes. The smell of pine is everywhere; a wildly flowing river runs through town; the temperature is probably 55. Delicious!
Reynold Kalstrom showed us some of the 23 14,000 foot mountains he has climbed lately. We drove past a few of them so I sent him cell phone pics of them although they are shrouded in clouds right now.
Did you see Isacc Hayes croaked on his treadmll? Yikes. Now there's a reason to stick with walking instead of those machines! We had flat-out wraps with turkey and mini carrots for lunch. Dang, it's good to be healthy!
